Il "Commento ai Salmi" di Eusebio di Cesarea si colloca ad un bivio nella storia della sua esegesi: profondamente influenzato infatti dal genio di Origene, Eusebio prende a modello la lettura allegorica origeniana del Salterio, ma contemporaneamente si apre ad un'interpretazione tipologica e letterale, inserita in un attento quadro storico. Proprio per la cura che dedica all'accostamento filologico al testo, è dunque un lavoro "all'avanguardia" rispetto al suo tempo e costituisce ancora oggi una solida base alla lettura dei Salmi.
