Example in fair condition. Binding with golden titles and friezes on the front plate, black friezes in some places faded framing the plates: dust stains and abrasions on the plates, abrasions on the corners in particular on the upper corner of the back plate, creased caps, cuts on the hinges, missing to the upper portion of the back. Binding loose on the lower portion between the first blank paper and the body of the volume. Ex-libris paper insert applied to the front pastedown. Golden cuts with traces of dust. Papers well preserved with scattered foxings. Well-preserved plates preceded by sheets of tissue paper, bearing the captions in red font, rather worn and with foxing. Text in Italian language. Table captions in Italian, French, German and English.

In this volume the Venetian publisher Ferdinando Ongania presents the heliotype reproduction of two seventeenth-century works: Habiti d'Huomeni et Donne Venetiane with the Procession of the Ser.ma Signoria and other Particolari i.e. Trionfi Festes et Public Ceremonies of the most noble city of Venetia, with the tables carved by Giacomo Franco in 1610 (18 tables), and The city of Venetia with the origin and government of that... with the real copper carving of the most noble buildings and notable places, and of solemnity, and of pleasures, that there are in it. Extracts from the Works of Gioan Nicolò Dogliani Part Two (23 tables), published by Antonio Turini in Venice in 1614. At the Colophon: Heliotype facsimile of the original print existing in the R. Marciana Library of Venice. Second edition of only 100 copies. With 41 plates, 18 in the first part of the volume and 23 in the second. On the frontispiece there is a portrait of Mr. D. Vincenzo Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua and Monferrato, to whom the volume is dedicated. Text in Italian language. Table captions in Italian, French, German and English.
